What does an Accountant do?

Accounting professionals work to ensure that companies can remain financially efficient and profitable. The job duties of an accountant include reviewing and maintaining financial information; preparing and submitting tax documents; assessment of financial operations or advising on record-keeping and compliance requirements.

Areas of specialisations may include assurance, commercial finance, corporate finance, corporate recovery, corporate treasury, financial accounting, forensic accounting or internal audit.

How to become an Accountant?

Most Accounting graduates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce but may require additional examinations to be officially certified as an accountant. Most of the time, students choose to pursue double majors in Accounting and Finance.
