What does an Audiologist do?

Audiology specialists test hearing and assess the nature of hearing disorders. The job duties of an audiologist include compile and disseminate intelligence information; conduct threat and risk assessments and developing responses; or teaching communication strategies, including speech reading.

Audiologists may specialize in pediatrics, geriatrics, balance, cochlear implants, hearing aids, tinnitus and auditory processing, among other issues.

How to become an Audiologist?

To become an audiologist, you usually have to study biomedicine, biological science, health science or related field at university, followed by a postgraduate qualification in audiology. Registration or licensing may be required.
